Today was
the second day of the players registration and also the practice
day. Over 110 lady golf professionals from different countries
and regions including USA, UK, Switzerland, Austria, Netherlands,
Brazil, Russia, Australia, Thailand, Philippines, Korea, Japan,
Chinese Taipei, China Hong Kong and China had checked in the
host venue, WuYi Fountain Palm Golf Club Jiangmen today set
ready to compete in the 2005 LAGT-WuYi Championship with prize
money of USD80,000.00.
"The WuYi Championship will be a historic event in
China." said by the chief organizer, China Golf Association.
"It was held the first time in China and also on the
20th year of China golf history, it was meaningful to us.
Especially we can see there are so many lady golfers from
not only Asia but also US and Europe to play with our top
ranked China lady golfers."
The world lady golf development had reached its 55 years'
history. Over 40 lady golf tournaments organized each year
with prize money more than US30 mil. The performance of Asian
ladies were distinguished in the recent years. Many stars
were born like Korea's Pak Se Ri and Grace Park, Chinese Taipei's
Candy Kung and Philippines's Jeniifer Rosales. Their names
were always shown on the top ranked LPGA list.
We can see the first generation of China lady golfers like
Lin Shao Ru, Lin Yin May, Huang Li Xia played in Chung Shan
Hot Spring Golf Club 20 years ago followed by the next badge
of Zhong Shao Long, Zhang Li Qun and the new young team today
like Yang Hong Mei, Ye Li Ying, Zhang Na, Wong Xun. All their
good performances in the past had symbolized the bright future
of China lady golf.
After the West Coast Ladies Golf Tour had held last year
in China, we hope the 2005 Ladies Asian Golf Tour-WuYi Championship
with the very first time ever held in China will give a strong
driving force to the development of China lady golf.
