2. Host Venue - Location of Wu Yi Fountain Palm
GC The club is located in the town of Jiangmen about 1 hour's drive south
of Guangzhou. It can be accessed via three airports: (a) Guangzhou International
- one and a half hour by road from Wu Yi (b) Hong Kong - two and a half hours
by ferry from Wu Yi (c) Macau - 2 hours by road from Wu Yi.
The recommended
airport is Guangzhou International and the club will operate a pick up service
to/from GZ International Airport. Pick up Service Charge: RMB100/pax (one way).
The other pick up point is at the ferry terminal in Jiangmen (for ferries
from Hong Kong).

3. Accommodation The official
hotel is the Palace Hotel in Jiangmen. It is about 10 minutes from the club by
shuttle bus. It is a four star hotel with all modern amenities and restaurants.
Accommodation will be organized by Ms. Debbie Yeung and all requests should be

Lunch and Meals The Clubhouse will provide different menus to choose,
including Western Food and Asian Cuisine. The Clubhouse Restaurant operation hour
is: 6:30am - 10:00pm (weekdays), 6:00am - 10:00pm (weekends).
5. Shuttle
Bus A shuttle bus will operate between the Palace Hotel and the Golf Club.
A timetable will be posted on the clubhouse notice board.
6. Climate
and Time Zone The climate in January is usually overcast with some rain.
Temperature will be in the 10 - 15 degree
centigrade range. Jiangmen is
in the same time zone as Malaysia, Singapore, Hong Kong, Philippines. It is one
hour ahead of Bangkok and 5 hours behind New Zealand.
7. Visa A
visa is required for travel to China. We advise that you obtain a tourist visa
from your local Chinese Embassy or Consulate. Please allow two weeks for processing.
8.
Currency Exchange Rate The official currency is reminbi (Rmb). The exchange
rate can vary from 7.5 to 8 Rmb to 1 US dollar.
9. Airport Tax In
Guangzhou - 90 rmb. In Hong Kong it's always included in the airfare. In Macau
it's 130 Mop.
10. Caddy Fee & Tips The caddy fee for the
tournament is at RMB150/ 18 hole, and normally suggestion tips to the caddies
is around RMB50 per round.
11. Club Facilities Club facilities
including (a) Night Light Driving Range, it opens to the public from 6:30am -
10:00pm, the range ball charges at RMB20 for 50 balls. (b) Aroma Centre, players
can enjoy most relaxing massage service at our Aroma Centre, no matter foot massage
or body massage, all the players may enjoy 20% discount for their expenses.

Pro-Am The Tournament Committee will invite the winning player or some
invited players to play the Pro- Am match on Monday 17th January, or Sunday
23rd January, A pairing sheet will be posted on the clubhouse notice board.
13. Jiangmen City Population of Jiangmen is one million. There
are many good Chinese restaurants. Shops are more market style rather than the
large modern shopping malls and so there are plenty of bargains that can be found.
Within an hour's drive there are many temples and other places of interest. The
club and the hotel can arrange tours if required. |
